Make it Mine #14

Even though Susan over at Simple Stampin publishes the Make it Mine Monday challenge diligently each Monday morning, sometimes my Monday’s slip into Wednesdays (or Thursdays!).  I just couldn’t seem to get my head around it on Monday.  It was one of those weekends where Monday just came too fast.  Thank goodness the little voice in my head puts just enough pressure on me not to stall too long!  Susan would be disappointed if it was a lot of pressure….so just in case she is reading this, it is just the good kind of pressure that gets you off your hinny to take action…in this case to “create”!

So here we go.  Susan used a really fun stamp set to translate her sketch this week. (Peace, Love & Cupcakes Pg 53 of the Annual Catalog and Idea Book) It is one that I have flagged but it hasn’t made it into my collection quite yet.

This is an excellent example where you see a sketch and it acts as inspiration vs. strict map.  Both Susan and I put our own spin on the layout creating two very different cards.  But it is obvious that when you look at them together they came from the same starting point.  I used this idea to showcase more of our wonderful DSP instead of a lot of stamping.  I love the simplicity of it.  Hope you do too.
